{"id":71,"date":"2009-07-16T16:45:14","date_gmt":"2009-07-16T21:45:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/?p=71"},"modified":"2009-07-16T16:45:14","modified_gmt":"2009-07-16T21:45:14","slug":"10-foods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/2009\/07\/16\/10-foods\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Foods"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Day Three of <a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/blog\/\">Ben<\/a> and Beth&#8217;s Top Ten Lists takes us straight to the stomach&#8230;Top Ten Foods.\u00a0 Let me begin by saying that this was very difficult for me.\u00a0 Several of my favorite foods did not make the list.\u00a0 In reality I wanted to do a Top Ten List with 90 honorable mentions, but <a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/blog\/\">Ben<\/a> told me no.\u00a0 Enjoy the list and don&#8217;t get too hungry!<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>IS Special <\/strong>&#8211; Grilled chicken, Mexican rice and white cheese sauce all mixed together&#8230;what is not to like?\u00a0 This is a specialty of a Mexican restaurant in BG.\u00a0 However, it has expanded to El Mazatlan in Bowling Green (known as the Chef Special) and Casa Grande in Somerset (known there as Vivian&#8217;s special).\u00a0 Vivian, daughter of Casa Grande owner,\u00a0 came to school at WKU and brought the dish back to\u00a0 Somerset.\u00a0 It has now become a favorite at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.insiderpages.com\/b\/15242433395\">Casa Grande<\/a> as well.\u00a0\u00a0 I would also like to add that I will eat just about anything Mexican, I love it!\u00a0 I am pretty sure I was Mexican in a former life \ud83d\ude09<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grilled Chicken or Cindy&#8217;s BBQ Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Corn on the Cob<\/strong> &#8211; This is a great comfort food.\u00a0 I could eat mashed potatoes and fresh corn on the cob for every meal and not be disappointed.\u00a0 Cindy is my second mom in Somerset.\u00a0 She makes the best BBQ Chicken.\u00a0 Growing up I would often call her house and ask what she was having for dinner, if it was BBQ chicken I was sure to stay over longer!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Soups especially Chili or Okra Stew<\/strong> &#8211; I love a nice warm bowl of soup on a chili evening.\u00a0 Both chili and okra stew are hearty and delicious!\u00a0 My chili is a staple, it is the main dish at our annual Halloween party.\u00a0 Okra stew is a mix of okra and fresh summer vegetables, shrimp and sausage.\u00a0 I just discovered this recipe last summer and fell in love with it!\u00a0 I hope to post recipes of these in the near future, so if you are interested keep you eyes open.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Roast and Potatoes<\/strong> &#8211; I like to stick this in the crock pot before I leave for work and come home to\u00a0 a delicious smelling house.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Anything breakfast related (waffles, pancakes, biscuits and gravy&#8230;)<\/strong> &#8211; What can I say I love it all.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t matter if I cook it myself, someone else cooks it or we go to a favorite hot spot in town, I love it.\u00a0 If I could eat breakfast for every meal I would.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/blog\/\">Ben<\/a> doesn&#8217;t really care for breakfast so I have to occassionally sneak it in on him.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lettuce Wraps<\/strong> &#8211; I am particularly fond of these from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pfchangs.com\/\">P.F.
