{"id":449,"date":"2009-12-05T10:41:50","date_gmt":"2009-12-05T16:41:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/2009\/12\/05\/why-i-love-my-husband\/"},"modified":"2009-12-05T11:19:17","modified_gmt":"2009-12-05T17:19:17","slug":"why-i-love-my-husband","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/2009\/12\/05\/why-i-love-my-husband\/","title":{"rendered":"Why I Love My Husband"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I love Ben for many reasons, but one of the things I love about my husband is he will do things with\/for me that he hates.\u00a0 On Thursday, Ben <strong>ASKED<\/strong> me if I wanted to decorate the Christmas tree.\u00a0 I emphasize the word \u201casked\u201d because if you know Ben at all you know that he is not a huge fan of the Christmas season (i.e. music, decorations, etc).\u00a0 The fact that he brought up the tree showed me just how much he loves me.\u00a0 It was a perfect evening encompassed with many things I love:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Spending time with my family<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shrimp Scampi<\/strong> &#8211; Ben even cooked, it was as good if not better than Red Lobster.\u00a0 We were only missing the garlic, cheese bread.\u00a0 I will include the recipe at the end of this post.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Decorating the Christmas tree while listening to Christmas music<\/strong> \u2013 Ben only made a few negative comments!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hot Chocolate and magazines<\/strong> \u2013 I am little behind on my magazine readings, so we made up some homemade cocoa for me (see <a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/blog\/2009\/11\/09\/easy-hot-cocoa-from-scratch\/\">this post<\/a> for the recipe) and eggnog for Ben-JAM-in.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A bath<\/strong> \u2013 When I was pregnant with Mikayla I took a bath almost every night.\u00a0 I love baths!\u00a0 I haven\u2019t taken that many since she has been born, so this was very relaxing!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>Here are a few pictures of us decorating the tree.<\/ul>\n<div id=\"scid:66721397-FF69-4ca6-AEC4-17E6B3208830:5a544364-8ecb-44f5-8da4-64952c3ddd8f\" class=\"wlWriterEditableSmartContent\" style=\"padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px\"><a style=\"border:0px\" href=\"http:\/\/cid-194ba10a5355455b.skydrive.live.com\/redir.aspx?page=browse&amp;resid=194BA10A5355455B!108&amp;ct=photos\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border:0px\" src=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/InlineRepresentation0ec85e5d60a44b31b19399f2922d701f.jpg\" alt=\"View Christmas tree\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 438px; text-align: right;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cid-194ba10a5355455b.skydrive.live.com\/redir.aspx?page=browse&amp;resid=194BA10A5355455B!108&amp;ct=photos\">View Full Album<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Shrimp Scampi Recipe for Two (courtesy of Ben Kickert)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 450<\/p>\n<p>Peel and Devein 1\/2 pound shrimp, wash and place in single layer in small corningware.<\/p>\n<p>In small sauce pan combine 1\/3 cup butter, 1\/4 cup white wine\/sherry (I did half and half), 1 tablespoon of lime or lemon juice, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, parsley, salt and pepper and\/or ground grains of paradise, onion powder, oregano (listed in descending order of amount).<\/p>\n<p>Heat mixture until butter is completely melted.
