{"id":39,"date":"2009-07-08T01:00:07","date_gmt":"2009-07-08T01:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/?p=39"},"modified":"2009-07-08T02:56:09","modified_gmt":"2009-07-08T02:56:09","slug":"cookie-fail-muffin-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/2009\/07\/08\/cookie-fail-muffin-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Cookie Fail, Muffin Success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week Mikayla was in a good mood and I was in a baking mood so while Ben was sleeping, we ventured to the kitchen to try our hands at a couple of new recipes.\u00a0 There were plenty of blueberries to go around thanks to our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skyfarmersmarket.com\/\">Local Farmer&#8217;s Market<\/a> and since bananas lifespan is shorter in the summer we had a bunch of those as well.\u00a0 Fun fact about Beth &#8211; I only like green bananas.\u00a0 Once they start getting brown I refuse to eat them &#8211; even if it is just a little brown.\u00a0 So needless to say, bananas do not last long in our house.\u00a0 The two recipes I chose to try included both of these ingredients:\u00a0 Loaded Oatmeal Cookies and Blueberry Banana Muffins.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We started with the muffins.\u00a0 Here is the <a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Recipe\/Banana-Blueberry-Muffins\/Detail.aspx\">recipe<\/a> that I used.\u00a0 Side note &#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/\"> All Recipes<\/a> is one of my favorite places to find recipes.<\/p>\n<p>Of course if you know me at all, I had to tweak the recipe a little!!\u00a0 First off I did not have any whole wheat flour so I settled for All-Purpose Flour instead.\u00a0 I tripled the cinnamon and only used two whole eggs (had to save some for the cookies).\u00a0\u00a0 I also added in a few extra blueberries (their flavor is so good this time of year).\u00a0 I had some peaches that were getting ready to go bad so I cut up a few of those and threw them into the mix, along with a little heavy whipping cream to thin out the batter.\u00a0 Here is the end result:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-41 alignnone\" style=\"border: 2px solid black; margin-left: 5px; margin-right: 5px;\" title=\"cookies2\" src=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/cookies2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"cookies2\" width=\"244\" height=\"183\" srcset=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/cookies2-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/cookies2.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 244px) 100vw, 244px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They were delicious too!\u00a0 The cookies on the other hand&#8230;let&#8217;s just say they did not turn out as good as the muffins (at first).\u00a0 I can not seem to find the recipe I found on some random cooking blog, but I can tell you that the recipe did not have enough flour.\u00a0 Here is the result of the cookies when I followed the recipe:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-45 alignnone\" style=\"border: 2px solid black;
