{"id":2187,"date":"2011-01-26T14:04:31","date_gmt":"2011-01-26T20:04:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/2011\/01\/26\/snow-day-fun\/"},"modified":"2011-01-26T14:04:31","modified_gmt":"2011-01-26T20:04:31","slug":"snow-day-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/2011\/01\/26\/snow-day-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"Snow Day Fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I first woke up this morning and looked out the window I knew we would be having at least an hour delay so I went back to bed for a bit.&#160; When I woke up the second time and looked outside I saw even more snow.&#160; I thought to myself, there is a small chance we will be out of school or at least a two hour delay instead.&#160; I hopped on the computer and much to my delight we had another snow day.&#160; Now, I know some people might be tired of snow days (I myself wasn&#8217;t wishing for one, but I will take it), but I love the snow.&#160; We are trying to cherish every &quot;snow&quot; moment this year, because it could be the last one for awhile.&#160; Here is a recap of our snow day so far.<\/p>\n<p>We started the day with a yummy breakfast.&#160; I made French toast with a homemade blueberry and raspberry sauce.&#160; I used a <a href=\"http:\/\/joyinmykitchen.blogspot.com\/2009\/07\/berry-sauce.html\">recipe<\/a> I found on Finding Joy in My Kitchen (a new favorite food blog of mine) and it was delicious.&#160; We also made <a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Recipe\/Sugar-and-Spice-Bacon\/Detail.aspx\">Sugar and Spice Bacon<\/a>.&#160; Some of the best bacon I have ever had!<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Snowday024.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"Snow day 024\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Snow day 024\" src=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Snowday024_thumb.jpg\" width=\"404\" height=\"304\" \/><\/a>&#160;<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Then we ventured out into the cold in our &quot;suit&quot; and &quot;boots&quot; for some more snow fun.&#160; We pulled Mikayla around in the snow, threw some snow balls and even made a snowman.&#160; I need to give credit to Ben for making the snowman, Mikayla and I didn&#8217;t really help that much, unless you count watching and gathering\/eating accessories!&#160; Mikayla really loves snowmen, so she thought this was pretty cool.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Snowday026.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"Snow day 026\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Snow day 026\" src=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Snowday026_thumb.jpg\" width=\"404\" height=\"304\" \/><\/a>&#160;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Snowday051.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"Snow day 051\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Snow day 051\" src=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Snowday051_thumb.jpg\" width=\"404\" height=\"304\" \/><\/a>&#160;<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">After we were good and frosty from the cold we headed inside for a little snowman treat.&#160; He looks kind of creepy, but Mikayla loved him.&#160; He is made from &quot;marsh&quot; (Marshmallows), bananas, pretzel sticks, sprinkles and fruit leather.&#160; If she had been asleep I would have tried <a href=\"http:\/\/familyfun.go.com\/recipes\/snowman-on-a-stick-699309\/\">these<\/a>, but he turned out cute for a quick snack.&#160; <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Snowday054.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"Snow day 054\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Snow day 054\" src=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Snowday054_thumb.jpg\" width=\"304\" height=\"404\" \/><\/a>&#160;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Snowday055.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"Snow day 055\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Snow day 055\" src=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Snowday055_thumb.jpg\" width=\"404\" height=\"304\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>Love at first sight!
