{"id":1074,"date":"2010-06-26T11:13:41","date_gmt":"2010-06-26T16:13:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/2010\/06\/26\/kimono-dresses\/"},"modified":"2010-06-27T11:17:43","modified_gmt":"2010-06-27T16:17:43","slug":"kimono-dresses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/2010\/06\/26\/kimono-dresses\/","title":{"rendered":"Kimono Dresses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the second installment of \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/2010\/06\/02\/sewing-boot-camp\/\">Sewing Boot Camp<\/a>\u201d I voted to make a kimono for my <a href=\"http:\/\/happyintheinbetween.blogspot.com\/2010\/06\/shes-trooper.html\">goddaughter\u2019s baptism<\/a> gift and of course one for my darling as well.\u00a0\u00a0 After Dacia made one (to test out so she could be a better teacher), she thought it would make a cute kimono dress.\u00a0 I agreed and so we proceeded with the project.\u00a0 It was super easy, and I actually (proudly) made Mikayla\u2019s all by myself.\u00a0 Go me!\u00a0 I didn\u2019t get any shots of Molly in hers, but maybe her mommy could send me some.\u00a0 I used a pattern tutorial (from <a href=\"http:\/\/habitual.wordpress.com\/kimono\/\">this<\/a> website, just email her), made the length five inches longer and at an angle instead of straight down.\u00a0 Here are what the measurements looked like for a 6-9 month dress and 12-24 month dress (I hope this isn\u2019t too confusing).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/image15.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/image_thumb10.png\" border=\"0\" alt=\"image\" width=\"417\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>(Make two of these one for right side and one for left so you will need to flip the pattern.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Measurements for 6-9 \/ 12-24 month dress (all measurements in inches):<\/p>\n<p>A \u2013 17.5 \/ 20<\/p>\n<p>B \u2013 5.5 \/ 6.25<\/p>\n<p>C \u2013 3.5 \/ 4<\/p>\n<p>D \u2013 14 \/ 15<\/p>\n<p>E \u2013 10.5 \/ 12<\/p>\n<p>F \u2013 2.25 \/2.25<\/p>\n<p>G \u2013 Connect corner of C to end of F<\/p>\n<p>H \u2013 6 \/ 7<\/p>\n<p>I \u2013 13 \/ 14<\/p>\n<p>J \u2013 7.5 \/ 10.5<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these three pieces you will need 1\/2 inch bias tape (66 \/ 70 inches).\u00a0 We had a great time putting these together.\u00a0 Here are a few shots of the final products.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kickert.info\/beth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/June017.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block;
